Questions insurance companies ask
I need to get started shopping for homeowners insurance.
What kind of info do I need to know about the house?
I found a form online that asked about when electric/plumbing were renovated...do I need to know that? How do I get the information?

I work for an insurance company in NJ
Here are some of the question we ask
How old is the home, the heater, ( is the heater gas, oil or electric) the roof.
When was the electrical and plumbing last updated.
Do you have a oil tank? If so where is it located

If you can't ask the previous owner, then I am not sure.
They will ask you if you have a dog, what breed it is. Any new renovations..if you have a fireplace or woodstove, deck if you have co's for them, if you ahve a basement, where your heating system is stored, what kind (oil, gas), etc.

Did you have a home inspection? If so you will find out most of the info from there
