Questions for those planning on pumping.
If you're planning on pumping, are you registering for/buying a pump or will you rent one from the hospital for a while?
Also, does anyone know the difference between the Medela Pump in Style Advanced Pump and the Pump in Style Advanced Double Electric Pump? Is one better than the other? If everything goes well, I plan to pump when I go back to work. I'd like something that's relatively quick and easy to use. TIA.

I plan on renting until I know for sure it's going to work for me.

I'm going to rent one as well, b/c one I don't know how well I'll be able to produce milk and I am only going to pump until I return to work.

Re: Questions for those planning on pumping.
based on recommendations, this is the one i bought:
Medela® Pump In Style® Advanced Breastpump Backpack
it also comes in a shoulder bag style.
i purchased it at BBB because i had a 20% off coupon, and it came to about $245 with tax. you could also see if your hospital sells them, they might be cheaper there and then you won't have to pay tax.

I will rent one this time if I decide to BF. I bought a cheap one last yr and it didn't work very well. I will rent and see if my milk comes in and if it does, then I will buy one.

My SIL recommended the Medela Swing pump. It worked great for her so that is the one that I registered for.

Re: Questions for those planning on pumping.
We were going to rent but based on the figures that the hospital gave us for the monthly fees, the deposit and the new tubing, it was worth it for us to buy. They use the same Medela Pump In Style. Also the lactation consultant gave us a coupon for $20 off the purchase at the hospital. It was a question of $50 more (and probably no tax) for us to have one of our own.

Re: Questions for those planning on pumping.
I rented a pump for 1 month, yet it was about $110 b/c you had to buy the attachments for $50 (although they gave me a brand new set at the hospital), the store where I rented from made me buy & then it was 60. for the month.
I then bought a Medela PIS Advanced, like the backpack one above & it worked WONDERFULLY for the entire year I pumped.
Yet if you're unsure if you are committed to pump and/or if your milk doesn't come in, you're better off renting at first.
