Questions for a friend - They are having Triplets

My friends just announced they are having triplets & I'm trying to help out in anyway I can. They already have a 1.5 year old boy and they can use some help.

Were a good cheap places to get furniture, swings, clothing, etc. They are due in March, but might deliver in Feb. 2011.

I was thinking garage sales & of course friends that want to give or lend them things. They are having to really save as much money as possible and they live in a 2 bedroom house. So the Den is getting turned into a nursery for the triplets. On top of it all she has a blood clot disorder, so things are pretty scary right now. Thank god is on her side right now. So lots of :prayers: for her and the babies and that all of them make it through this tough time.

So any advise, places to shop (cheap places), etc. I would be very appreciative of any help and I know they will be very appreciative of the help also.

My friend lives out in LI and she is always telling me about a store called Once Upon A Child. Apparently they sell all kinds of baby and children items including clothes, gear, toys, etc. for less since it's all "lightly used". My friend says everything has to be in great condition, in boxes, etc. I think you can sell your items there too.

Try Savers and Craigs list. Be careful about once upon a time as they don't always have decent prices and some of their prices are the same as buying new.

i am sure that many moms here have items they can donate or sell highly discounted! i would let her know about the site, take a look at the buy/swap/sell thread too!

sorry to crash but Once Upon a Child is fabulous for all this. They have things from strollers to clothes to dvds and baby carriers. Everything is gently used and has no rips or stained. Plus clothes under 12 months must have the tags on them. I bought my niece 15 outfits for $53!!!

There is a place on Wellwood Ave in Lindenhurst called Kids Stuff for Less. It is AMAZING! If you are looking for a specific thing and they don't have it, they will take your name and number and they will call you when it comes in.

I have also been to once upon a child, and it is good as well. The one in Sayville is very nice, but like a pp said, sometimes it is not really worth it.

I have gotten amazing things at garage sales, but you really have to be committed to searching.

Maybe they could borrow some stuff from friends and family?

I plan to give everything away after we have our 2nd DC. I think a lot of other ppl are the same way.
