Questions about DISNEY!!

Hey Guys...

DH and I just booked our first trip to DISNEY and I am SO EXCITED!!! I wanted to get a couple of opinions on what you ladies thought we should definitely see as I haven't been to disney in years!

DS is going to be just over 3 years old and loves everything Mickey. We definitely want to do a character meal...any suggestions?

We are doing 3 days of parks....any must see attractions or areas that we should not really bother going with a 3 year old?

Questions about DISNEY!!

We went 3 months before DS' 3rd B-day.

We did Donald's breakfast at Animal Kingdom (Donald, Mickey, Goofy and Daisy) and liked it a lot.

We also did the Disney Jr Breakfast at Hollywood Studios (Jake, Oso, Handy Manny and June) which was also a big hit.

We spent most of our time at Magic Kingdom and also did Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. DS loved Hollywood Studios (they have a lifesize Mater and Lightning McQueen, the Disney Jr characters, and he loved the Honey I Shrunk the Kids Playground). If you are doing 3 days of parks, I'd do 2 days at MK and 1 day at HS.

When are you going? Im planning for next year! I'm so excited already.

I hear Chef Mickey's is great for a character meal!

I hear mixed reviews on Epcot for that age. My DD is 3 and some people tell me to skip and some say their toddler LOVED it!

I didnt think my DD would be so into Hollywood Studios until my travel agent told me that they have Disney Jr Live shows and she loves all the Disney Jr shows

We booked for 9/30-10/3 and are planning on doing three days at the parks... I was planning 2 days at MK and 1 at AK but after reading some of the reviews, might be leaning to 2 MK and 1 at HS...

DS loves Cars and Toys story...is there rides for those movies at HS or just climb on stuff?


Is fantasyland part of MK?

I know nothing about Disney and really need to get on the ball with planning!!

We went last July to celebrate DS's 4th birthday. He LOVED the Peter Pan Ride in MK the most and DH took him on a lot of other rides I couldn't go on because I was pregnant at the time. We ate at Chef Mickey's and he seemed to be a bit awestruck by all the characters. We spent two days in MK, one day in the Animal Kingdom...that one he didn't seem to impressed with, and one day in Hollywood Studios where we did the character lunch at Hollywood & Vine (which had the characters Special Agent OSO, Jake from the Neverland Pirates, and a bunch more from Disney Junior.) He liked the Disney Junior show and the Lightening McQueen stunt show a lot. We never got to do the Buzz Lightyear ride because the line was insane. I definitely recommend using Fast Pass and planning your route around that if possible. We also went to Sea World one day. I love Epcot but we skipped it because I didn't think he would enjoy it. Have FUN!!!

we had the best character experience at Chef mickey's (in the Contemporary).

I would do 2 days MK and 1 day HS if it were me. We just went so throw things by me if you want :)

A GREAT Mickey character meal is at the Garden Grill in Epcot. Each time we've gone they've spent the most time coming around the tables. It's Mickey & Pluto & Chip & Dale. Have an awesome time! FYI - our experience at Chef Mickey's was they spent the least time with the kids and it was all very rushed.

There's nothing not to love about Disney. We took AJ when she was 3 and she's one of those 'strange ones' who loved Epcot. Watching Finding Nemo mini broadway show, eating at Coral Reef next to a huge turtle, walking under the big sphere, taking the boat across that lake, listening to the drums in Japan and watching them make candy plus she was super into Jasmine so seeing Alladin and Jasmine were huge pluses for her, watching the drumers in america were ok at a distance, listening to the mock beatles was fun for both of us, photos photos photos at all the places.. breakfast with the princesses at Norway, the random parades and 'street performers' plus it was less crowded in general. I have video of her dancing to the music by the gate all by herself for a long long while. They also had this place under the globe where the all the characters group up for photos, etc. She loved it!

Magic kingdom obviously huge for her. She got on the dumbo and carousel so many times! Its a small world, met buzz light year and chip n dale, (daisy was at epcot actually). We did buffet at the Crystal Palace for the pooh characters too.

Animal kindgom was actually a let down for us. we need to try to do more there this year. She loved the birds of flight show and having a fish made for her out of bamboo leaves. They wrote her name in Malaysian and she loved sitting to talk to them and listening to the music.

Hollywood Studios (so strange not calling it MGM) she loved all the star wars stuff and got to make her very own light saber!!! she STILL plays with it. had dinner at the Sci Fi Drive in which she loved being in a 'car' and watching the screen drive in. the milkshake was devine! plus shows shows shows!

First things first tho...
Walk into Magic Kingdom head to your right and meet Mickey the Magician up close and personal for a photo and signature. It was the first thing we did and she was awestruck at meeting him personally and privately! totally worth it!

We're going in Nov.. CANT WAIT!

Tonight we are just got back from hitting the pool. I can tell you about garden grill if you can wait until tomorrow night after we eat there. Chef mickeys is good for a first timer. It is kind of crazy and the food is eh. I would do it if it is a first trip. Haven't tried it but people here like tusker house.

This is my oldest 3rd trip. We went this week 3 years ago. MK and EPCOT are my kids favorites every trip. Last two AK was next and lastly HS. Really it depends on your child. My 5 almost 6 year old wasn't very big on AKL today. She gets motion sick so she was limited in what she wanted to ride. Didn't help my mom kept talking her out of rides I think she would have liked. My 3 will be 4 on the 23rd loved AKL and made me take her on dinosaur several times. She would have ridden expedition everest if she was rall enough (she is only about 41 or 42 inches.
