Questions about adoption..
Don't quite know which board to post this on..
For all you Moms out there.. if you've had a new spouse adopt your child.. can you tell me a little about the process?
Maybe recommend an adoption lawyer?
I don't quite know where to start.. I would like my SO to legally adopt my son once he's born and I am just so lost!

I don't know the answer, but i'm curious if you could put your SO on the birth certificate as the father once the baby is born.

i know a girl who did not have a name on birth certificate for her daughter's father, left it blank.
her new husband just added his name to it.

If your SO is the father of your child, you would just need to put his name on the birth certificate. Adoption isn't necessary.
If he's not, I believe you'd need to see a lawyer & speak to the father about terminating his parental rights so that SO can adopt.
You may want to Xpost to the adoption board & the stepparent board.
