Questions...
Hi Ladies. Had to make another name for my questions because to be honest, sometimes I just dont want people to know who I am.
Well I have a question...
I have to admit that I haven't been the best "mom-to-be" lately. I stopped taking my prenatal vitamins around 13 weeks. I just couldnt take them anymore. I am horrible at taking pills and they made me sick. I tried a few different ways of taking them but just the idea makes me want to puke! I know this is bad but my question is is there anyone else out there that does not or did not take prenatals??? What could potentally happen if I dont take them?

Re: Questions...
I am not in the same boat as you since I've been fortunate to have no issues. I just wanted to tell you that I had a conversation with the Physicians Assistant at my office. You can take from it whatever you want, but I hope it eases your mind. She told me that she NEVER took her pills. Ever. They made her sick too. She has three very healthy girls. The older two are in school and she said are really bright.
Just in case you didn't think of other solutions in case you want to try again...
-take the pills a different time of day, I take mine before I go to bed.
-try a different brand, I take Targets Up and Up prenatal vitamins.
-if you are early in your pregnancy, stop for a bit and try again when you aren't having morning sickness.
Either way, I wish you luck but most of all happiness. That's the most important. Happy mommy = happy baby.

Re: Questions...
I stopped too. My Dr just told me to take 2 chewable vitamins a day. The main reason for prenatals is the folic acid

Re: Questions...
Buy a folic acid supplement. This is what is MOST important. And just take a multivitamin

Re: Questions...
I got really sick from taking the prenatals when I was pg with my DS. Towards the end of the pregnancy, I pretty much only took them once a month because I would forget all the time and I didn't want to get sick.
My sister had the same issues, she had morning sickness her entire pregnancy and she switched to the gummy ones and said they were a lot better on her stomach and yummy so it wasn't like taking pills.

Re: Questions...
also - the prenatals are for you mostly. The baby is a parasite and will take whatever it can from you and deplete you first. So if you are eating really well and getting your nutrients that way, the baby is taking those.

Re: Questions...
My friend never took hers either, she tried early in her pregnancy with her first and they made her sick as well so she never bothered starting with her other 2. She has 3 healthy children, she said she just tried to eat as healthy as she could while pregnant.

Have you tried the Vitafusion Gummy Prenatals? I find those to be easy to take and pretty delicious!

Re: Questions...
I also take mine right before bed because they did not agree with my belly any other time. But, to ease your mind...I had a conversation with my doctor in the beginning of my pregnancy... She was explaining to me that she had a frantic mom-to-be call her and explain that her pharmacy couldn't fill her prenatals for two days and she was so afraid of not taking the vitamins... The doctor said, this is what you are going to do... you're gonna go to the supermarket, pick up the ingredients to make a big salad, grill some chicken, combine them and eat it! You and baby will be fine!
Basically, if you eat healthy (somewhat) you will get the nutrients you both need... I would also recommend talking to your Doctor about it! Maybe they can suggest something better... Hang in there!! Good Luck!!

Re: Questions...
Walmart sells a chewable gummi prenatal that tastes like a gummi bear, especially if you keep it in the fridge. Hth!
