Question... saving leftovers

I'm so bad with leftovers. If it's a little I'm an organized nut and most things get thrown away. I like to keep my fridge looking nice.

My FIL is the complete opposite. He loves his vacuum seal and will seal and freeze anything. even extra Dunkin Donuts, which is funny b/c his nephew owns a few stores and always brings us some.
Don't get me wrong, I do save some stuff, but freezing donuts is a little too much.

Anyone like this or the opposite? Chat Icon

Re: Question... saving leftovers

I have a major problem. I can't throw food away. Even if there is a tiny bit left I will wrap it up. I usually end up eating them for lunch or a snack the next day. Dh hates leftovers he is always saying just throw it out. I literally feel sick to my stomach if I throw perfectly good food out. I have no problem throwing old food out that's been in the fridge for too long. I'm weird!

Re: Question... saving leftovers

I don't think I'd freeze donuts Chat Icon Chat Icon but I do save things. I have soup in the freezer from a few months ago (guess I ought to toss it huh? lol). I also save stuff that I buy too much of, like at costco.

My Mom freezes bagels!

Re: Question... saving leftovers

We save leftovers - but not in the freezer. Leftovers become lunch or if enough, another dinner.

We do freeze bagels though, they get stale quickly.

Re: Question... saving leftovers

we dont really freeze any leftovers except for sauce, soup or chili. but all other leftovers we either eat for lunch the next day or dinner. i wont eat leftovers more than a day old, but my DH has no problem with it so i usually leave it for him.

Re: Question... saving leftovers

The only time I freeze "leftovers" is when I make a big crockpot stew, soup or sauce. All other leftovers get eaten the next day for lunch or dinner.

ETS: I do freeze bagels because we won't eat them all right away and I love bagels too much to throw them out Chat Icon
