Question re babysitter and vacation

Hi, what would you guys do -
I have a college girl babysit for me one day a week only for the summer. She is going on vacation next week so won't sit and then I am on vacation the following week. What do I do about pay ? Do I pay her for the week I go on vacation and not for the week she goes ? Or do I just not pay her bc she isn't working ?? This is the first time I have a "steady" sitter so not sure what to do or what's fair.

I would not pay her for either unless it was discussed when you hired her. I had a sitter coming one day/week for awhile and I didn't pay her when either of us went away.

i have a college student watching my children and we dont pay her for either vacations.

Thanks guys. I guess I won't pay her bc we didn't discuss it before hiring. I don't think she is expecting me to. It would be different for me if she was permanent and not just help for the summer.

what about giving 25-50% pay?

Erica, good idea. I was thinking of giving her half or maybe a little extra in today's pay. I kind of feel bad knowing she won't get paid for 2 weeks. Maybe I will do that.
