question on what to do

ok so we dont have a driveway at our house yet ...there is a lip cut out of the sidewalk for one but there is grass where our driveway should be
so last summer our neighbor has people putting inground sprinklers next door and they start putting one in where our driveway is gonna go so my DH goes out and talks to the guy installing the sprinklers and tells him thats our property etc. so he goes to talk to our neighbor and he comes back and said they want it to go there so....they put it there.

well we are almost ready to have the driveway done so how do I handle this now?? do I tell my neighbor or rip it out of the ground??

I would just rip it out. You took the time when it was being installed to let them know it was your property and the head should be moved, and they chose to ignore you. Tough luck.

But I'm not crazy about my neighbor. He actually complained to me yesterday that our sprinkler heads aren't watering his half of the lawn that's between our 2 houses.

I agree - this is on your property - do as you please.

Wow, I think that is pretty ballsy. "I want it there" yeah I want to live in the trump building on Central Park, but that doesn't mean that I can just move into someone elses house.

You tried to be nice about it by telling them that it was your property. I would tell the neighbor that the driveway is being done on X day, and that it will be laid whether or not they remove their sprinkler from your property or notChat Icon

Re: question on what to do

Just be very careful not to just pave over their sprinkler lines. Our next door neighbor whose house was elevated from ours, had a sprinkler line leak that eventually eroded away under our driveway and collapsed our driveway causing thousands of dollars in repair. I would rip out the lines and head right out of the ground!!!!!
