Question on Alarm System
Is it true that the police department will charge u a fee if ur alarm goes off by accident?? after how many times before they start charging a fee..

We got one when we first moved in and the carpet guys accidently hit the panic button. The police responded and we didn't have the permit. We didn't realize we needed one since we just took over the system.
We recently had a false alarm while we were out right before Christmas and the police responded and we didn't get a fine. Something my kids left in the wrong place fell down and set off the motion sensor.
We had a problem with our system when a bad contact was installed in our new door and it kept going off for no reason, since we told the alarm company when they'd call to check not to send the police we didn't get any fines.
False alarms really don't happen very often, aside from the door issue it's happened 2 or 3 times in since we moved in 12/03.

The holders of an alarm permit or the person in control of an alarm system shall be subject to warnings and/or suspension and/or revocation of an alarm permit contingent upon the number of false alarm notifications emitted from (3) month period in accordance with the following schedule:
FALSE ALARM NOTIFICATION (one per 24 hour period)
1st Warning letter
2nd ---
3rd ---
4th Final warning
5th Revocation or loss of permit
