Question for those who breastfeed and supplement
Hi! My dd is 6 wks old. I have been breastfeeding then supplementing with formula b/c my supply is not enough. I have a pump but it takes me a couple of days to get like 3 ounces b/c i can only fit like 2 pumpings in in a day. Anyway- I had to leave dd alone with dh and mil this past weekend for like 6 hours and she was fine with the bottle ony(I also have given her bottle only in the past when I have had visitors and she is fine with it). Well the last time they had to feed her she refused the bottle and cried off and on for 2 hours until she just fell asleep. There have been times that she has done this to me as well-but it is easy if I am there. I am just worried about when she goes to daycare in 7wks...any tips on how I can fix this? I selfishly don't want to switch to only bottle only b/c it will be a pain for me to pump and wash all the bottles-b/c I will have to use one bottle for breast milk and another for the formula. TIA!

Re: Question for those who breastfeed and supplement
I don't supplement, but DS takes bottles at daycare. During my maternity leave, he'd have a bottle if I was away from him for a few hours. He seemed to do well, but I wasn't consistent with giving him bottles. When DH tried to give him a bottle shortly before I was returning to work, he didn't drink much. I was worried, but we tried to give him a bottle per day for several days before I went back to work. He was fine.
Make sure you're not in the room when DC has a bottle. Some babies won't take a bottle from their mothers b/c they prefer the breast. Make sure the milk is warmed up enough. Experiment with different bottles and possibly different nipple flow. Some babies won't take certain ones. Try to give one bottle per day to get DC used to it. Good luck!

Re: Question for those who breastfeed and supplement
I EBF and give my DD bottles when we go out and once a day just to keep her "practicing" with it. She's now 14 weeks.
She refused the bottle for us, but we found that if we tried everyday, we started when she was 3 weeks old, and kept at it, she got better and better. Also, temperature makes a huge difference for her. Once she got a warm bottle, she was fine.
My MIL had to give her 3 bottles the other day when she was watching her and she was fine with it. We were thrilled.
