I am very conflicted with what to do with for Jordan's daycare situation for next school year. He has been at a private babysitter since he is 7 months old. We love her, she loves him but for a few different reasons, we started looking at nursery school for next year. She watches other children too so he does have social interaction. She also used to work in daycares and an autism program, so she does a lot of activities and circle time with the kids. She herself says though that it is like Jordan's second home and that she thinks he would benefit from a structured "school" setting. He also occasionally sees a behavior therapist for some feeding issues and she thought it was a great idea (to start nursery next year) because she said he is very bright and will flourish in that setting.

I was all gung-ho about nurseries and started visiting some temple nurseries but I'm now feeling very conflicted. I'm just not sure if he's too young. He'll be just over 2.5 when the next school year starts. I'm just worried that he won't get enough attention as he would from a babysitter. Sometimes he eats great, sometimes not so much. His babysitter will spend the time with him at mealtime, constantly encouraging him to eat. Are they going to do that in a classroom with up to 11 other toddlers? We could always wait until next Jan, when he'll be 3, but I don't know if we're short-changing him then.

Advice? Thoughts? Opinions? If you have have a younger toddler in a structured school setting, what has been your experience?

Thanks!!
