Question for BTDT moms-Bassinet

We live in an apt and have DS in a smaller bedroom but want DC#2 in our room until they sleep through the night, then they can share.

Would a bassinet for our room then move to a crib be a cost effective thing or should we just get a crib an move it?

TIA!

Re: Question for BTDT moms-Bassinet

is there anyone you can borrow a bassinet from?

we bought a bunch of bassinets and cosleepers and Loey never liked any of them. we ended up cosleeping because it was the only way to get him to sleep - we wasted a ton of money on different sleep things!

if you're getting a PnP, you might want to use the bassinet portion of that in the beginning.

we didn't use the crib until around 6 months (consistently for night sleeping)

This was a little costly, but we love it. (we are in a small apartment too, this worked out so well for us!)

It starts bassinet size, and you can expand it to crib, then to toddler bed, then to junior bed. The only real downside is that sheets and stuff is really limited, so I got custom sheets made on esty.

Its on wheels to so you can move it around to living room or whatever. Its so cozy inside, DS loves it. Its lightweight but very well made.

How about the FP Rock and Play sleeper? It's only $50 and it folds to fit under your bed. It's the only thing DS would sleep in. We have a tiny house too.

Maybe check out Once Upon a Baby. I've seen really nice bassinets there in great condition.

We got our FP Rock & Play sleeper at BRU for $43 with a 20% off coupon. It was the best thing we ever bought. It is super light weight easily folds, our baby slept sooo well in it. We brought it everywhere we went because it was easier to transport that a Pack n Play.

DS refused to sleep in a bassinet, so if you can borrow one, I would. You never know!!!

Re: Question for BTDT moms-Bassinet

My DS hated his bassinet from day one. He's slept in the Lamb swing for the past 10 weeks and will soon be transitioned to the crib.

From what I've heard from friends, a lot of babies like swings, carseats or rock n play sleepers bc it feels like they are being cradled or held, whereas a flat bassinet/crib is not as comforting. Once they are 3 months I think they grow out of that.
