Question about wood pellet furnace and insurance
Hi all, Before calling my insurance agent I was wondering if anyone knew that if having a wood pellet furnace (not a stove that you'd have in your living room or inserted into your fireplace, we have an actual furnace that burns pellets, as well as corn or cherry pits but we're sticking to pellets for now) - would we get any sort of discount on our insurance? I have Allstate. I don't want to call and ask and find out for some reason it makes the insurance go up, but I also don't want to not say anything and God forbid there's a fire and the furnace is the cause, we don't get a payout because we never told him we are using another source of heat. My DH doesn't think it matters either way for the insurance but if we can get a discount, that would be cool, and I guess I just want to know if we have to let them know we have it either way. Thank you!

Re: Question about wood pellet furnace and insurance
pellet furnaces are pretty rare on LI, that's probably why nobody is answering your question. we have a pellet stove & most LIers have no idea what that is. good luck
