Question about the oil spill
I do not want to get into any type of political debate but I am curious to see what kind of publicity it is getting on Long Island. I moved off LI and now live on the Eastern Shore in Alabama. I live a few miles from Mobile Bay and about 30 minutes from the Gulf. We are getting hit pretty hard here as they are starting to close our beaches. I am worried about my area and the impact this will have for a long time. It is obviously a huge topic down here and I was just curious if it was getting as much talk up there.

It is news up here. It's probably not anywhere big a topic as it is by you but I see at least 2-3 stories about it a day on the news.
This whole situation is just so devestating.

WOW!! I'm terribly sorry that you are soo close!!
And even more sorry about this tragic situation.
It's def talk up here. Not as much as I would think they should be talking about it. But it's on EVERYONE's minds, in all the papers and on all the news.
It's on the cover of metro paper this morning. It's often mentioned on the cover of papers... if not on the cover, it's covered in articles about it in, I think, every paper.
this whole thing is just heart wrenching.

It's still getting a huge amount of press up there. Still the top story, the photos of the envionmental damage, the oil soaked wildlife.
Our elementary school is writing letters & the younger ones are drawing pictures to urge action.

I watch channel 7 every morning and they is something about it every day. I don't watch much more of it during the day to really comment. It's so horrible. I'm so tired of the blame game, just effing get it stopped and cleaned up!!!!! Then you can go on attacking people.
