question about the caffeine posts
so I will be more than likely doing my first IUI in a few weeks & I see all of these posts about cutting out caffeine. Is this recommended while going through the IUI & IVF process, or is it after you are PG? I do probably have too much caffeine during the day and when I was pg w/my son I cut down almost completely..but I didn't know if it was recommended beforehand.
Does cutting down on or cutting out caffeine increase your chances of getting pg?

Re: question about the caffeine posts
In my opinion, I think it all depends on who you speak to. Some doctors are more conservative than others. For example...my sister's RE told her to cut out ALL caffeine and ALL alcohol while TTC, but my RE said business as usual until pg. I was even told some wine during 2ww is ok. The fetus does start getting nutrients and such from the mother until around 4-6 weeks. When you are pg, then you are allowed 1 caffeinated beverage per day. But then again, one of my friends ObGyn said cut out all caffeine, and one friends ObGyn said 1 per day. All 3 ladies had happy healthy pregnancies and happy healthy babies :)

question about the caffeine posts
There are studies that suggest that consuming too much caffeine could affect implantation so just to be on the safe side I cut it out a few days before transfer and on. There are plenty of people who drink coffee, soda, etc with no issue so it's really upto you. GL!

This is what I was told so I have eliminated caffeine. My RE reccommended it. I was a soda-Holic when I was preggo with DD, but I have substituted caffeine (soda in particular for pink lemonade and orange juice).

I agree but always check w your RE because everyone's different. I was told just to limit, not eliminate, caffeine. I treat myself to a cup of coffee/ latte about 3x per week while Ttc rather than daily.

question about the caffeine posts
I was never told to cut caffeine. I, however, do not drink coffee and only have soda maybe once a week, which I cut out after my ER. I do drink tea on a pretty regular basis during the winter to warm up, but it was a non issue seeing as how I had both of my IVFs during warmer weather.

Re: question about the caffeine posts
I was never told to cut out caffeine, however I did cut back and only had one caffeinated cup in the AM and the rest of the day decaf...I weaned myself down. I figured it was better for me to be as "natural" as I could be. About a week before my transfer I was on all decaf and that's mostly what I drink now.
