question about solids and bottles
DS has been eating cereal for the last 3 weeks or so. I have been giving him a bottle immediately after his cereal. At first he really wanted it, and would finish almost his usual amount. Now he doesn't seem as interested and finishes less, obviously because he's fuller from cereal. So should I continue to give him his bottle right after cereal, just give him less, then give him his next bottle 3 hours later? Or should I wait a while and give him a bottle much later and start a new bottle schedule? What do you all do? Thanks!

Re: question about solids and bottles
I give them at different times. A bottle when she wakes up and breakfast about 1-2 hours later.

Re: question about solids and bottles
I was taught to always give the bottle first before the solids because solids can fill babies up really quickly. Milk should still be their primary form of nutrition. If you know DS tends to finish both, then it really doesn't matter. But, it sounds like you might want to switch the order.

ditto
Our ped reiterates at every visit that 99.9% of their nutrients at that age come from formula. Food is for introduction of chewing, taste, texture, etc. It's far more important that they get their full measure of formula than of food that young.

We do this also because Kaydyn likes to graze all day long. If we try to give her a bottle with any of her meals she just pushes it away.
