Question about renewing your vows.
Is it normally done on your anniversary? DH and I have been talking about this for a while now. We were married in January. But I wanted to do something in the summer months.
Would that be weird?

Re: Question about renewing your vows.
I have always known them to be done on a significant anniversary.
Why summer? Do you want it to be warm? If so, go to as a destination renewal

Re: Question about renewing your vows.
My aunt and uncle renewed their vows for their 25th, 40th and 50th
At least one of those times was not on or near their actual anniversary.
We always joke about their 4 marriages, all to the same person.

Cute. We have another date that means a lot to us and it happens to be in the summer. But it's a monday this year so it'll be a while before we could have it on a weekend. We were looking to do it next yr.

Yeah, we would like it to be warm. I would love to do a destination, but our families wouldn't be able to make it due to the expense.

Re: Question about renewing your vows.
I imagine it's normally done on your anniversary, but I think if you want to do it over the summer months then go for it! It's really about the meaning behind it anyway ... which is more meaningful than a set of rules and when you're "supposed" to do it!

Re: Question about renewing your vows.
Joe and I are hoping to go to a Sandles next year for our 5yr anniversary and renew there. That's what I wanted to begin with and 5 yrs is enough for me

Re: Question about renewing your vows.
I would like to do it for our 10 year anniversary and I highly doubt we will do it on that day. I want to take a big family trip and do a renewal away with our kids, which means it would be sometime over the summer break and our anniversary is in October.

Re: Question about renewing your vows.
Do it whenever you want. DH and I did it in the summer even though we were married in November. We didn't even do it on a "big" anniversary year - it was our 6th. I just wanted to get married by the RC Church, and we did not when we first got married.
