Question about MS/Nausea

Hi ladies,
So I am only a little over 6 weeks but I believe I have the beginnings of MS... I am wondering if this is what it feels like:

Sudden waves of nausea (some last two minutes - others last an hour) However, they can also disappear and then I feel OK.

Yesterday and today, I felt nauseas in the morning, but then later before lunch I felt fine. I ate big lunches (both days) and afterwords just felt a dull nausea for the remainder of the day - couldn't even eat at night and I don't think I'll be able to tonight either - the thought of anything is just grossing me out.

I am still in hiding so can't ask anyone I know about this - is this typical MS?

TIA!

There's really no such thing as "typical" MS. It varies so much person to person and even pregnancy to pregnancy.

Re: Question about MS/Nausea

There is no normal. Some people are full on puking constantly, some just occasionally, some dry heaves, some get waves of nausea and some just feel a constant dull sense of being nauseous.

Or a combination of any or all of the above at different times.

Or maybe (if you're lucky) none of these ever.

I hope you don't have much -- but if it starts to get bad...

Smaller meals more frequently. Don't let your stomach get empty.

Test out different drinks that people say help. Some swear by ginger ale, some say water with lemon, etc.

Preggy pops were helpful to me... or any hard candy that had a sour-type coating on it.

Also b6 vitamins can help.

Re: Question about MS/Nausea

Thank you ladies! I am still super nauseas tonight and planned not to eat but after your advice I will eat something small to keep my stomach from being empty. Also going to investigate pregnancy pops and get some ginger ale. I hope it doesn't get bad but I did read that people who are prone to motion sickness are more likely to get MS and I am VERY prone to motion sickness - I can't even sit in the backseat on a short drive. Anyway fingers crossed that is not the case!

Re: Question about MS/Nausea

I've had mild nausea every day for the past 6 weeks or so. I haven't actually thrown up, which is great, but definitely dry heaved a few times while brushing my teeth. I noticed it got way worse whenever I was getting too hungry, so make sure you eat throughout the day. Pretzels and ginger ale quickly became my best friends.

I've been living on saltines and lemon flavored seltzer. Force yourself to eat bc it definitely gets worse on an empty stomach.

Question about MS/Nausea

I agree with not letting your stomach empty! I felt sickest in the mornings and after dinner/before bed. Dinner was probably the hardest meal for me. If I ate a big lunch it would carry me through most of the day.

Re: Question about MS/Nausea

That's pretty much how mine was. I was never really nauseous in the morning but I rarely was able to eat dinner because I'd feel so sick. For some reason, the only thing I ever wanted for dinner was fruit smoothies so I had lots of frozen fruit on hand.
