question about IUI?
Do they always do a SA on DH before the IUI is performed? Will they hold off on it if the numbers aren't good?

Most SA are done during your initial tests to determine if an IUI would even be feasible.

He did have one done in the beginning but I keep seeing that girls are saying the SA for their IUI's were good so I feel like they do another one of the sample for the IUI. Maybe different Dr.s do it at different times?

Ohhhhh, yes they do check the numbers again with the IUI sample. More than likely they wouldn't stop the IUI if the numbers aren't as great as the initial test.

DH had a normal SA.
IUI #1 we had 60million sperm post wash and that resulted in a chemical pregnancy.
The next month IUI #2 we had 3 million post wash count and that resulted in 
It didn't stop the RE from going ahead with the insemination but he wasn't optimistic.
When he released me he pointed out how we were worried about the numbers.

They don't do a full SA. Just usually the count, motility and some other stat (that supposedly needs to be "above 1").

Yes, it's like a mini SA, my Dr's office did one every time before the IUI's.

That's exactly how it was for us. Don't let number get you down. As cliche as it sounds, and I am sure youhave heard it numerous times, all it takes is ONE. Best of luck.
