Question about Insurance Coverage
Hi Ladies,
I am going to see an RE for the first time this week. I'm just curious if I will have to pay out of pocket for any procedures. I have Oxford Liberty and on their website, it says that they cover 100% infertility. Thelr offices are closed until tomorrow, so I can't call to get details until then. Does anyone else have Oxford and do you know if they cover IUI and/or IVF, as well as all testing and monitoring?
TIA!

Re: Question about Insurance Coverage
I dont have the same insurance as you (I have United Health Care). Pretty much everything is covered for me (except copays...which add up). Just check to see if u have an infertility max. I am only covered up to 25K.

Re: Question about Insurance Coverage
Usually, it depends on your company, not so much the insurance.
I have Oxford Liberty, and this is not the insurance I had the first time. I checked the infertility coverage, and for me they cover only testing (100%). However NYS requires companies to provide more infertility benefits. So I am covered for ovulation induction and IUI (sperm washing and procedure) but NOT IVF.

Re: Question about Insurance Coverage
You definitely have to check the specific coverage you have. I have Oxford Freedom. When I first started, we had a "small business" plan and I only had coverage for testing, IUIs, etc. I did NOT have coverage for "advanced IF treatments", including IVF. We then added a lot more employees and our plan changed to a "large company" plan - but it is still called Oxford Freedom. Under this plan, I have coverage for advanced IF treatments (which includes IVF) with a $10,000 lifetime max.

Thanks! I just actually called to get my coverage info. I am covered for 100% testing, IUIs but NOT IVF.
I'm really hoping that our TTC will not have to come to IVF, but if so, I guess we will have to pay out of pocket. I'm praying that it doesn't come to that.

Re: Question about Insurance Coverage
I have infertility coverage. I had to pay $5 per medication since the meds fell under the prescriptions plan and not the IF coverage.
