Question about formula

Steven is a really great baby. But lately he is being very fussy. He's not crying all the time, or staying up all night but he is fussing a lot about an hour after he eats. He has sooo much gas, but he is passing it, which is good right?

My question is: the hospital started him on Similar Advance with Iron. Should I switch to low iron? Should I call the pedi and ask her? I feel bad that he is uncomfortable for about an hour after he eats every day. OR, since he is releasing the gas, then he is OK?

Re: Question about formula

DS was that way when he was first born too and when we went to the Dr for his 2 week appointment, the Dr change the formula to Good Start and we started putting mylcoin in his formula.

Thanks! He is one month and at his 2 week apt., he was fine. This has just started about a little over a week ago. Maybe I will try the Mylicon drops in the formula first.Chat Icon

Re: Question about formula

Try that and if that does not work and call your ped and see what he/she says.

Re: Question about formula

just wanted to add that I read a study that says the Low Iron supposedly doesn't affect their stomachs and that they actually want to pull the low iron off the shelves b/c it doesn't supply enough iron.

I would also say maybe you should burp more often- maybe every 1/2 ounce or so?
