Question about flying
So, with this new law with regards to national flights out of NY where we will all need to use our passports or get the enhanced drivers license... What's the deal with children under 2? Will we now need to get them passports for flights within the US? My DH is like rushing us to get our 1 year old DS a passport for a trip to Cali in the spring.

Question about flying
I think you can just bring their birth certificate. I would call the airline to make sure. My BFF always brings her DD birth certificate with her when they fly and they never check it.

Re: Question about flying
The law does not apply to children under 18 I think Let me find it- I saw it recently
For families from these states, at least children under 18 years old do not need ID when traveling with a companion.
Article- it's at the very bottom of the article

Question about flying
I would just bring a birth certificate. Children under 18 only need IDs on domestic flights if they are a lap child - it's really just to prove your child isn't 2 yet and make sure you aren't trying to get out of buying a ticket for a child over 2... Usually they don't unless your child looks if they could be 2...

Yes, that is more to prove their age so they don't have to pay for a seat.
But the TSA does not require children under 18 to have ID to fly domestically DD just walks through the checkpoint with me- no ID needed
