Question about diapers
Diapers are unisex but I noticed PullUps are not.
Any idea why?

Re: Question about diapers
I really think it's just for design purposes. The girl pull ups have Hello Kitty, Princesses, etc.
Boys have designs and characters that appeal more to them
I don't think they are functionally any different

Question about diapers
But why wouldnt that be the case for normal diapers?
Its not a size thing i.e. - "pullups are for older kids so they are more aware of the patterns"
Because I see normal diapers in huge sizes and pullups in small sizes, so there must be overlap in age there.
very weird.

Re: Question about diapers
I think the thing with pull ups is they are supposed to encourage the kid to want to wear them, to feel like a "big kid", etc They are supposed to encourage them and excite them for potty training. It's a gimmick
In essence they are just a pull on diaper, but their purpose is to have the kid feel like they are wearing underwear.

Question about diapers
Marketing. An infant doesn't care what they're sh*tting in but apparently toddlers do.

Re: Question about diapers
Supposedly, I've been told the absorption padding is in different places in boy vs girl pull ups. I don't believe it. My DD wore DS's old pull ups and we never had leakage problems.

This! Granted I don't think my toddler (3 years old) cares either. He likes girl and boy characters equally - LOL

Question about diapers
I think it's supposed to mimic underwear & appeal to toddlers for potty training.

Question about diapers
Pampers used to make a different boy and girl diapers...but I guess it didn't affect their sales significantly so it's easier to just make one kind

Question about diapers
I thought the absorbable areas are different for boys and girls on pull ups. That's why they're gender specific.
