Question about DC last bottle before bed.
We usually give DS his last bottle and get him to bed between 7:30 and 8:30 (he drinks approx. 3.5oz of formula every 3-4 hours).
Tonight, he fell asleep before he finished his bottle (only got about an ounce down) and then woke up an hour later and took about a half ounce before he was out cold again.
Should I be waking him up to finish? Or should I left him sleep? I don't want to force feed him (esp. because he's a puker) and I know he'll wake and eat when he's hungry. But I'm not sure what the right thing to do is. WWYD?

I woke Rylan to eat for the first few days. I quickly learned to never wake a sleeping baby...lol.

id feed on demand i was always worried that if he didnt take the last bottle, he'd wake later on looking for it. never did! sometimes they just need the sleep more

Re: Question about DC last bottle before bed.
I just put him back to bed. He's nice and swaddled for the night. Hopefully he'll sleep for a few hours so that I can sleep.

I believe in DO wake a sleeping baby to feed them, BUT only during the day. The last bottle before bed is a night bottle, I would not force it, or wake him up to finish.

Yes, DS is 4 weeks old and we never let him go beyond 4 hours between bottles during the day, but at night we feed on demand. I'm letting him sleep. He'll probably wake up around midnight for a bottle.

Re: Question about DC last bottle before bed.
i never wake my baby if i dont have to. not for diaper changings, food, anything! if he wanted to finish his bottle, he would. if he needed to be changed, he'd wake up.
