Question about clothes?
Okay, so I just had my shower and I didn't get that much clothes. I had already bought some things, and I'm wondering if I have enough.
Here is what I have so far: Newborn: 1 PJs 1 outfit (coming home) 2 Onesies
0-3 months 6 PJs 5 Gowns 16 Onesies ( This is probably too many) 2 Outfits
I have more things in 3-6 months, but I'm not worried about that size. Do I need more clothes or do you think that is enough? Will I get more things when the baby is born? I'm really not sure how long a baby is in 0-3 months. I'm pretty sure I won't have a really big baby. Of course I don't know for sure.
Any advice would be wonderful, Thanks!!

Re: Question about clothes?
Newborns are infamous for peeing and pooping through numerous outfits in a day. For our first week, he probably went through 3-5 changes everyday. And he would go through a few sets of PJs every night. It's all trial and error with diaper sizes, different kinds of diapers, runny newborn poop that goes up their back, putting the diaper on too loose because you don't want to hurt the baby, etc.
With that being said: I'd buy more newborn stuff and 0-3 month stuff. What stuff? The basics. Plain onesies and pull on pants and socks. Cute outfits are nice, but we barely used them in the first few months. For us, we hated overalls and hooded shirts. (Anything that just doesn't work for a child that is laying down the entire day. They can't lift their heads.) Newborn spend most of their time sleeping (amazingly enough) and we wanted him comfy.
Whatever you buy: keep the receipts. You can always exchange for a bigger size if you still have the tags on it. If you have a washer and dryer at home then you have a better shot at only washing a few days worth of stuff and figuring out what size works. If you need to go outside to wash, then I'd wash a heck of a lot more clothes to have.
One thing I wish somebody had told me was that Gerber runs very small. So beware of that.
I hope this helps.

Re: Question about clothes?
I'd buy more newborn outfits and onesies. Whether you have enough also depends on how often you plan on doing laundry. There are days when I change DS several times per day b/c he spit up a lot or b/c he peed or pooped through the diaper.
DS was 8 lbs 1 oz when he was born. Even though they supposedly only go up to 8 lbs, DS wore newborn clothes for at least 1 month. He's almost 2 months and is still in the 0-3 month outfits. Some of the outfits are still huge on him.
