Question about changing diapers at night..

IF your DD/DS sleeps in the room with you. Do you get up out of bed to change a diaper or do you change the diaper in your room?
Also, do you change his or her diaper before and after every feeding or just before?

As of right now, I get up out of bed and change DS in his room before every feeding. He sleeps in our room.

I always do it in my room. Did the same with DD as well. The less awake I have to be the better.

I get out of bed and change him in his room across the hall from ours. I usually change his diapers before feedings but sometimes I change him after if I feel he is wet.

I always changed dd before her feeding only because she had really bad reflux so I couldn't lay her down after a bottle, and I would change her in her room on the changing table with a dim light on. She slept in our room but it was easier since the diapers, cream, and wipes were already set up in her room.

When DD was in our room, I changed her there (since her room wasn't yet set up anyway). I do the changing after her feeding since she wets/poops after she eats. We've just started doing her diaper change just before she is done with her bottle since she tends to fall asleep while eating. She will usually finish the bottle after that and go right back to sleep.

I wouldn't get out of bed, I wouldn't even sit up or turn on a light

If there was poop(which happened maybe 5 times in the middle of the night with all 3 of my kids) then I would turn on the night light and sit up and do it on my lap.


But after the first month or two I wouldn't change diapers in the middle of the night. So once they were in their own room(at 4 months old) I didn't ever have to change them anywhere.


I also always did it before their feeding.
