question about changing cell phone providers
since i'm going to have to split the family plan, i've decided to go with another provider.
do i just call the new provider and tell them i want to bring my number over?
do i have to inform my old provider of this?
yes, i will be breaking the contract, which is under xh's name... i guess he'll incur a fee for that.

Re: question about changing cell phone providers
if the account is in his name--i don't think you can just break the contract and take your number with you...i think he would have to be the one to do it since its under his name.
you might just have to get your own new number with the new provider...then inform your old provider that you are are ending your contract with them.
when my DH joined my family plan--he had to get a new number cause the account was in my name. then when we moved over to verizon-- (from sprint) since he gets a discount for being a city employee--he became the account holder--and it was me who had to change my phone number cause i wasn't the account holder anymore.
