Question about cc and debit acct numbers
I made a purchase at a store today and noticed that my full acct number with the expiration date was on the slip...the STORE copy slip
I thought this was illegal?

I think they don't put them on your copy.
They put them on the store copy.

It shouldn't be on there, I worked in Retail when that changed and it was MADATORY to eliminate all but the last 4.
ETA: Ok started drinking and misread the question, the store copy has it.

So they are allowed to have your full acct number on their copy?
Jenn, I thought it was changed a few years ago too...I was in retail and we had to get new cc machines

The store can have the full number...they may need it for a credit. Your copy cannot have all the numbers, just the last four, to prevent credit card fraud.
This is why all those cards got compromised at Marshalls/TJMaxx in December, the employees at the store had access to the full card numbers.
