Question about Car Seats (are they all the same "size"?)
We have inherited 2 car seats. Car Seat 1. I believe its this one: http://www.albeebaby.com/peg-perego-2009-primo-viaggio-sip-30-30-infant-car-seat-in-papaia.html Car Seat 2. "The first years" True Fit Premier - looks like this one, but it doesn't have that red thing sticking up. Its just a small plastic piece. http://www.babybix.com/blog/2010/10/31/giveaway-the-first-years-true-fit-premier-convertible-car-seat/
DD is 18 months old and 32 inches tall at her 15 month visit.
We installed car seat #1 in our car but I think DD is outgrowing it. Her legs are really bent and looks squished. The issue with using car seat #2 is that its a lot bigger in terms of size. I tried installing it rear facing in our car (we have a small sedan) but it caused the front seat to be pushed so far forward I don't think anyone could sit there comfortably.
My question is - would all car seats take up about the same amount of space? If we went out and purchased a new car seat would it also cause the front seat to get pushed all the way up?
Thanks!

Not at all. First off, used seats are not recommended at all unless you trust the person who gave it to you with your child's life. Was it ever in an accident? Checked on a plane? We're the straps ever submerged in water? Was it washed properly? Is it expired?
Secondly, car seats come in different sizes and limits. Some are huge, some are compact. Not all fit well in many cars.

Also that infant seat can't be used by your child again since it has a 30in limit and your daughter is over that limit. She should have been out of it awhile ago. And if it was manufactured before 2010, in pretty sure it's expired.

DS is also 18 months and I think he is taller than 32 inches and his legs do not yet seem squished (granted he HATES the car seat and we've tried three different types...)
If the one you have doesn't fit in your car, I'd look into getting a new car seat.
I have a Mazda 3 and the Chicco NextFit fits in it rear facing, but does not leave a ton of legroom for the passenger. If we take my car, one of us sits in the back.
My DH has a Graco one rear facing. He has an outback so there is still room for the passenger.

I have a graco 4ever and a graco milestone. Both are long lasting, compact, and recommended seats. They fit well in small sedans- I have put mine in a corolla, a Prius, a lancer, and a Dodge Dart. Never needed to push the seat all the way up.
Also squished legs are not a sign of outgrowing a seat. Exceeding the limits is.

Question about Car Seats (are they all the same
I have the graco 4ever and the britax clicktight boulevard. My husbands car is super small inside and he is six ft three and the boulevard fits much better in his car? Unfortunately it's very expensive
