Question about bell peppers?
I have two red bell pepper plants and have 1 pepper about full size but its still green - if i pick it will it remain green or can it ripen to red in the house?

Thats funny cause I planted yellow ones and mine are coming out green, I thought the nursery I bought them at marked them wrong haha

I was surprised at how long it took for the red/yellow peppers to turn that color from green. Felt like it took just as long as it took for the bell pepper to get to full size!
But yes, definitely leave them on the plant. If you pick them, they will turn red/yellow but only after a long time and they will be wrinkly and shriveled by then.

its best to leave it on the vine until it turns, but if you pick it and want to speed up the ripening without losing the freshness, you can pop it in a paper bag. that works with lots of fruit (bananas, tomatoes, etc). it will ripen them within a few hours to a day.
