Question about a houses assessed value and taxes...
If a house is being assessed at a certain value by the town.....and you purchase it for more then it is assessed for does the town automaticallly raise your taxes to the purchase price?

no. this is why some people have lower taxes than others.
particularly in suffolk county, where houses have not been reassesed in quite some time.
