Quest Labs for Glucose Test
Does anyone know when Quest does the glucose test? I tried making an appointment online but it seems like most of the locations only have appointments available for the mornings? I don't want to take off work so I need to go in the afternoon/evening. I even tried searching for the next few weeks and there isn't much. Should I just go in as a walk-in?

You cannot do a walk in for a glucose test at Quest. You have to call to make an appointment. They also do not do it on Saturdays.
Having had to do the 3 hour with both pregnancies, I would suggest you schedule for as early in the morning as possible because you do have to fast for it.
Also, they only do a certain number a day.
ETA: Is this for the 1 hour or the 3 hour? I did the 1 hour in my OBs office.

I took the 3-hour glucose test this morning at Sunrise Labs which is pretty much the same as Quest. Like the PP said, they only schedule these tests first thing in the morning because you have to fast and it would literally be impossible for a preggo to fast for that long. They don't take walk-in glucose tests either... someone attempted it while I was there today and they turned her away. You have to make an appointment in advance and have your doctor send them a script for it. HTH!

Ooooh! The 1 hour is a different story. I had mine done in my OB office, but I'm sure you can just walk into the lab and have your blood drawn and you don't have to fast. Sorry, thought you meant the 3 hour!

For the one hour you can just walk in. I had to do it today. Had to wait a little bit, but once you drink the stuff, you know you will be out of their in an hour because it's a timed test. Good Luck!!

when i went for the 3 hour at quest in bellmore i made my appt online for 10am bc that's all they had available and i could only do it on that day bc of work.
i basically got yelled at when i got there that i scheduled it too late that they (actually it was only ONE girl) close up to take lunch from 12-1 so i was supposed to be there at 8am. i was like oh well too bad! don't have that time available if you don't want ppl to schedule that time. the girl ended up locking up between 12 and 1 and eating her lunch in the office. maybe that's why they only have morning appts?

I was able to schedule for the afternoon online...but when I went in they said it was too late to do the 3hr since I fasted too long, I bitched saying that there is nothing on the website saying that and that I never got a call about it, and that I took off work for this, so they let me do it anyways.
