Quest for SA?
My DH needs to go for a SA at Quest. I can't, for the life of me, get a live person on the phone no matter what number I call. I see people referencing collection in Syosset, but on the website it says that Syosset doesn't do SA?
Also, does anyone know if my husband has to be there when it's dropped off or can I do it for him?

Re: Quest for SA?
My DH went to the one in Syosset as it was the only one nearby who would accept it - and he had a hard time getting a straight answer from anyone too! But i know that's where he's been twice.
It has to be dropped off within an hour of being produced, and has to be kept warm/body temp the whole time. im not sure if he has to be there to 'verify' that its his or not since i wasn't with my dh when he did his drop offs

Re: Quest for SA?
Im not sure if Quest in Syosset is one that does the collections there but some words of advise for the actual collection.
I dropped my hubbys off a few times. I just had to fill out paper work and that was it. I think i also had to show ID. Anyhoo... every time they did a SA for my hubby they would tell us that he needs to "release fluids" and the no intercourse or ejaculating for 48 hours. So if he was to collect a sample for the SA on Sat, he would have to "release" on Wed and then go Sat. Apparently when u wait too long lots of the specimen is dead and when u don't wait long enough it could effect the count.

Re: Quest for SA?
my DH went to Syosset a coupleof times for a SA. Here is the info. for it.
Quest Diagnostics 575 Underhill Blvd, Ste 90, Syosset, NY 11791 (516) 677-3800
Also, DH has seen a couple of Dr.'s. His most recent Dr. who was actually able to find out what was causing his problems told him that Quest is not the best for SA.
He stated that their analysis isnt very in depth and strict. After a quest SA DH knew he had poor morphology. When DH went elsewhere for a SA they were able to identfy a more precise percentage and the actual shape of each. Im sure im not explaining it exactly right.
My point is just that if you get it done at quest and it does not come back great and you want greater detail maybe look into another somewhere else.
