ques re: 1 hr glucose test
i have my 1 hour test tomorrow. i have the drink at home and i know when i am supposed to drink it.
my question is am i allowed to drink anything after drinking it? can i have a glass of water? or does it need to be the last thing in your system before they draw your blood?

The bottle they gave me has instructions on it which say nothing but water after.

I have my test on Tuesday and i just read the directions and it says NOTHING after.

I agree with the PP. Nothing, not even water. If that's a really big problem, call your doctor's office and ask, but the last thing you want to do is have to retake the test because of something like an extra glass of water. (Plus, you don't want to have to pee while waiting the hour because you'd have to start over then, too.)

Mine is in 3 weeks. I was told to drink or eat nothing between.

thanks...i read the bottle better and it says nothing after drinking it...oh well...hoping i could chase it down with some water...

I'm jealous you guys get to drink it at home and then go to the Dr.'s My doctor is making me drink it there and hang out in the waiting room for an hour, blah.

My dr office said NOTHING by the mouth after taking it... not even gum or a cough drop. Both times it really dried out my mouth so it stunk not being able to have anything O right after the drew blood though they did ask if I wanted some water at least)
