Q re: Internals and Strep B test
These are happening at my next visit and they sound SOOOO scary! especially the strep b test - what exactly does this entail and are they painful? TIA

The internal is a bit uncomfortable...dr. will put their finger in & see if you are effaced/dilated at all...you may bleed after the fact.
The strep B test they just take a swab (and its like a pap smear), no big deal.

oh boy that is what i have to look foward to in 2 weeks also... i never thought the internal would be uncomfortable..
now im worried.
as for the possible bleeding.. how much and thats normal to?
at least i get a sono and see my little one that same day

The Strep B Test is just a swab, I do not even think they go internal, I felt nothing... no worries...
The internals, depend on the doctor, I had one last week that was extremely uncomfortable and the one I had this week, different doctor was much easier....
I have not bled.... but have heard of people that do....... so I cannot help with that... sorry....

I had an internal by both my doc and a resident while I was in the hospital. With the resident it was so uncomfortable and painful...yet with my dr it was completely painless so I think it really depends on who is doing it. The Strep test is just a swab...not worse than a pap smear.
regarding the bleeding...after my internals i had a good amount of bloody discharge when I wiped, but its not like a period...no blood on my underwear or anything.

If it makes you feel any better, I have had 3 internals so far.
They take about 5 seconds and I have had no pain and no bleeding.
Everyone is different and every doctor is different.
Just try to stay relaxed. I think that helps.

I had a number of internals. Don't worry...they really are nothing. I also had different doctors do it and they all felt the same.
Strep B is like a Pap Smear. No big deal.
YOu gotta push a baby out of there soon!!! These are nothing!

They only swab the outside of your vagina and rectum with the cotton swab, you don't even feel anything and it's sooo quick They don't go in your coolie
