Q on Lab ~ Quest Diagnostics

Hi Ladies,

I have to bring my son in for blood work for lead level etc. It is the first time we are bringing him for blood work ~ was wondering if anyone has had any experience with Quest Diagnostic in Selden or Port Jefferson area?

Thanks a bunch!Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Q on Lab ~ Quest Diagnostics

I have used them, and they are OK. DD was 4 when we went though. Not overly loving and mushy, but quick and got the job done on a child that was super nervous.

ETA: we went to the one on Boyle Rd
there is also one on 112 in the old Mary Haven Bldg.

Re: Q on Lab ~ Quest Diagnostics

Does your local hospital have a lab? I have been getting all my blood work done at Good Sam and they are soooo much better than Quest. I have small & difficult veins and they use the butterfly style needles. (The same type used on newborns.) I hardly get any bruising now ~ which is saying a lot for me. (And since I gave birth to DS there, they just pull me up in the computer every time I go. I never have to fill out any paperwork.)

Re: Q on Lab ~ Quest Diagnostics

I took dd to the pt jeff one (on 347 right?) whens he was 5 weeks old for failure to thrive bloodwork (freakin dr. made me hysterical sending us there, i went back and saw the reg dr the next time and they couldn't believe he sent me, dd was fine!Chat Icon ...but I digress) - it was a little hectic and there were a few people ahead of us but it moved quickly and the women there were so helpful...i was in tears, dd did better than i did and the women were so kind and sweet to both of us...i would go back there again! if you have specific quesitons, let me know!
