Putting together a grill?
Has anyone ever put together a gas grill themselves?
We bought a grill this past week from Target, and DH wanted to go to Lowe's or Sears where they do assembly for you, but of course those places were "out of stock" of the ones we wanted and we would have had to wait 3 weeks to order one.
Soooo - we would up at Target and somehow I said I would put it together myself this weekend if he would just buy the one I wanted.
How much time should I set aside for this on Saturday?

Re: Putting together a grill?
we ordered ours from Amazon. It took about an hour. You need 2 people. Some of the pieces are heavy. It really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

Re: Putting together a grill?
It took us almost 2 hours for a Kennmore gas grill without a side burner, but it wasn't hard.
It just takes time to make sure you are interpetating the pictures the right way & that you have hte right pieces.
I agree that you need 2 people, at least part of the time---sometimes you have to hold something in place while you screw it in from the other side.
ETA--Sears had free assembly, but we never would have been able to get it in the car!

It took me 2 hours to put together our stainless steel BBQ. It is a pretty decent sized grill too. It was very easy though. Scott

We bought one from target just recently and love it but it took us about 3 hours to put it together - and when I say us, I don't include me in that LOL!

Re: Putting together a grill?
2-3 hours normally...i wouldn't schedule a party for the same day...creates to much pressure putting it together and getting the place ready to entertain

Re: Putting together a grill?
I agree with the few hour timeline. It's a little bit more complicated than a assemble yourself furniture - but nothing too bad
