Puppy Shots
I have a new puppy and he got his second shot (parvo and rabies) on Tuesday Night and he has just been laying around since then. He eats a little at a time and just seems out of it. Should I call the vet or give him a few days? Do puppies react to shots the same way babies do when they get their shots? He was ok when he got his first set of shots.

Re: Puppy Shots
when hershey got his shots, he would be a little more lethargic than usual, but it would only be for that day and maybe a little bit of the next day...however he would never hesitate to gobble down his food as normal
if that were me, i'm a huge worry wart so i would probably call the vet today just to see what she/he has to say about it
good luck!

Re: Puppy Shots
Thanks - I'll give them a call and see what they say. I just wasn't sure if they can react to a shot like children where it takes a few days to get over the shot. He's so pitiful looking.

Re: Puppy Shots
Do you know if you vet gives Benadryl with the shots? Mine always does in case theres a reaction from the shot - but the Benadryl makes my dog a little lethargic for a few hours.

Re: Puppy Shots
He didn't mention it but the dog has been just laying around since yesterday morning. My daughter said that her dog was like this for a couple of days when she got her shots also. But i'm still calling the vet just to be sure.
