Punta Cana

FH and I have booked our honey moon and the Majestic colonial.

Has anyone been to Punta Cana?
Any recommendations as what to book for excursions? How do you go about booking them, at your hotel?
Restaurants? Although the travel agent said you don't really leave your resorChat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Punta Cana

We stayed at the Majestic Colonial last year! We've been to Punta Cana twice, going in February for our third time.

We love Punta Cana so much more than Mayan Riviera (where we went on our HM)

We never, ever leave the resort simply because we are there to relax and do nothing, not go exploring, we save that for other trips.

You can book excursions through one of the tour desks that they have set up You can even do it ahead of time with your TA.

You have, HAVE to try the "Majestic" drink.. like an orange creamsicle.. sooo good and really the onyl reason I'd return to the Majestic. It was a nice place, but we have a favorite resort (Palladium) that we're headed back to this time.

Have fun!

Re: Punta Cana

dh and i went to punta cana in october and loved it. we stayed at excellence punta cana.

the only excursion we did was a trip to the cigar factory (dh is really into cigars) and that wasn't a 'real' excursion - basically, the factory picks you up, gives you a tour and then you are left in the shop to hopefully buy. there's no pressure though. i didn't like having to stop at other hotels but there was no cost to do this so i have no right to complain. someone else did a tour where they take you to a cocoa plantation, local school, etc. that sounded interesting.
