pumping question
I haven't pumped in over a month b/c we went to Florida and I didn't feel like bringing the pump and well dd refused the bottle, so I gave up. But we'll be starting cereal in a few weeks and I want to pump to freeze so I have it for the cereal. Problem is, I'm getting NOTHING. Maybe a coating of milk on the bottom of the bottle. I know that this isn't any indication of my milk supply, as dd is gaining weigh, wetting diapers, etc. What can I do? TIA

Re: pumping question
did you try increasing the pump speed and pressure, or decreasing it. Thats what i do if its not flowing. i have to keep adjusting it. And did you massage the breast first, if my breast is hard like a rock, it wont come out, but if i take a hot shower or massage right before it flows.

Re: pumping question
check all of the pump parts - valves, tubes, flaps, then consistently pump each day at a certain time, eventually it will come out w/the pump. ur body gets used to whatever method ur doing for the time being. after a long weekend home w/ds and nursing, my 1st session pumping again is minimal, but it picks up after subsequent sessions

ITA, and try massage as well....it may take some time, but eventually your body will recognize you need more milk

Re: pumping question
I've always been a lousy pumper. I agree with the hot/warm shower, massage and relax. Your body will get used to your new routine. Give it a few days. Also, try for 5-10 minutes after each feeding.
