Pumping and Formula Questions
I am trying to BF but DS lost a lot of weight, he's not gaining so for now we are trying to pump and BF still, but will use formula as needed. I have two questions:
1) Pumping: Can you combine different pump sessions into one bottle? ie. if I pump at 7am can I combine that in one bottle with BM I pump at 12pm?
2) Formula - Anyone know how long Similac Advanced (liquid) lasts opened in the refrigerator?

I combined pumping sessions into 1 bottle...I made so little it would take me like 3 times to make one bottle.
I know the similac advance ready to feed is good for 72 hours after you open it...not sure about the powder.

I combine pumping sessions in one bottle. Not sure if you were asking about the ready to feed or powder mixed with water. RTF is good for 72 hours once opened. The actual powdered formula once opened is good for a month. If you mix the powder and water I think that formula may be good for 24 hours in the fridge.
But with the formula if they drink it and there is some left I toss it.
Also on the RTF bottles I always write on the bottle exactly when I opened it date and time to ensure that it is tossed after 72 hours.

Hey there!
Loey lost 13 ounces in the hospital! We only supplemented with a tiny bit of formula at that time though (and did so through a tube that went onto my breast that was attached to a syringe so there was no nipple confusion).
I also just BF'd as much as possible and for as long as Loey wanted and we ended up needing to supplement for just 24 hours!
If you do want to supplement... you can definitely combine pumping sessions! I do that all of the time. Just as long as you either use the milk or freeze it soon - KWIM?
