puffs and other textured solids

Did any of you have babies that made faces and spit out puffs, pastina, etc.

DS is 8 months , eats most purees and yogurt but makes faces when we try to give him puffs, mum mums, pastina, yogurt melts, etc. and then spits it out.

Dr said to just keep offering some babies take time, he has also been so sick all winter and he eating was all over the place so it could have also added to this. DS1 inhales everything we gave him right from the beginning so i am not used to this!

If you had a similar situation, when did they finally start eating them??

thanks!

ds was tough to start real foods...i cant recall when he did, but i agree with your dr just keep offering them with all meals and even just as a snack.
puffs ended up being the winner for ds after some time...he never ever ended up eating pastina.

puffs and other textured solids

My DS hated pastina so I tried regular pasta and he loved it.

I'd hold off on pastina for a while. It's tricky for babies to figure out and it gets so messy, anyway.

For the other foods, just keep trying!

ETA: Maybe try thickening the purees a bit with cereal so the baby gets used to thicker foods.

My twins were the same. they would taste them and then spit it out. Just keep offering it. Now, at 11 months they can't eat those puffs and yogurt melts fast enough! By 9 months they were all about the snacks! LOL

ETA: my twins are still not sold on "real" food. I give them anything and they make faces but I just keep giving it.
One snack they love is Yonanas! Its that machine that basically turns frozen bananas into ice cream. You can add other frozen fruits too!
