Puerto Rico
We're thinking PR for our November vaca. Can you suggest someplace that is nice, on the beach and easily accessible to local life (dining, dancing, markets, etc). We usually do all inclusives but they seem scant in PR. TIA!!

Re: Puerto Rico
We stayed at the Wyndham Rio Mar recently. It was nice and on the beach, but may not meet your needs because it's not easily accessible to local life. And, the local life there is very local and not at all touristy.
good luck!

Re: Puerto Rico
we've stayed at the El San Juan and the Ritz Carlton (they are about 5-10 mins from SJU airport in Isla Verde) they are both on the main strip and in walking distance to shops/cantinas,etc El San Juan was def more partyish, music by the pool, had a nightclub and most locals go to that hotel for the club and casino
the Ritz was beautiful but quiet I don't remember which hotel had which but some of the restaurants are Il Mulino, BLT
you can't go wrong with either place
enjoy!!

So, did you eat at the resort the whole time? What about night life...not like we're party animals but I like music/dancing. Also, were there other options near by like day cruises, snorkeling, etc? Tx!!

Yeah, don't need crazy nightlife but do like some activity and want o experience local foods. Is the Ritz Carlton on a beach?

We ate at the resort the whole time. Very overpriced for the quality of the food. No nightlife whatsoever. No dancing, not much music, even the casino was small and quiet.
The hotel has a concierge desk that books day trips for snorkeling, visits to the rain forest, visits to old san juan, etc.

Re: Puerto Rico
I got an awesome deal on the Intercontinental Resort and Casino....about 100 dollars a night. Every room has a balcony and the rooms were NICE. Private beach and pool..plus the restaurants were great too.
