PSA - 5 years ago tonight...
5 years ago tonight, our house burned down around us while we slept. The fire department said we were lucky to escape with our lives. We lost pretty much everything.
PLEASE - whatever you do, make sure that the batteries in your smoke detectors are working and that your smoke detectors are properly hooked up and installed. If you disconnect the battery when you cook, make sure you re-connect it. This is what happened to us.
There is nothing more valuable than your life.
