Property Inspector???
I just had a guy ring my door bell.
He introduced himself as a property inspector and asked it this was the "{insert my last name} residence". I replied yes. He asked if I was a renter or owner. I replied owner and then he said thank you and walked away before I could really ask any questions.
I didn't know what to say but now I am wondering what company he is from and I feel like I shouldn't have answered the door. He didn't inspect anything and it was just so creepy. Has anyone else had anything like this happen before? Should I be worried?

did you apply for a loan modification?
are you late on your mortgage?
you don't have to answer- but those are 2 times that the bank will send someone

Thank you for answering! We haven't applied for a modification and we aren't late on the mortgage. Are there any other reasons a property inspector would come by? The first thing I thought was maybe it was a town inspector but that wouldn't make much sense either because everything on our property is to code and he probably would have been driving a town of brookhaven car.
I wish the guy had said where he was from (or I should have asked before I answered the questions) cause it's really bothering me now. He just seemed so shady.
