Progesterone question...

I started my progesterone suppositories last night. OK...#1 YUCK!, #2 This may sound extraordinarily stupid but...with all the leakage Chat Icon how can I be sure that I am getting enough? Does that question make sense? I am taking 200mg at night until I go in for my beta on the 18th. Is it totally normal to leak like that?
Sorry for the questions, I am just concerned but I don't want to call my RE's office and sound like a looney!

Re: Progesterone question...

I use suppositories at night just before I go to bed and I don't have any leakage until I get up in the morningChat Icon I asked my RE about this and he said that what is coming out is not progesterone but the rest of the ingredients that make up the suppository. So, your body still absorbs the right amount Chat Icon He even told me that there is no difference if I insert the suppository in the morning or atnight, in other words you can walk around and feel that gross leakage all day Chat Icon Chat Icon and still have your body absorb the right amount Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Progesterone question...

Thank you! I kinda figured that would be the answer, but I just wanted to make sure. I woke up this morning and was freaking out, now I can go to bed tonight and know what to expect in the morning.

Only 12 days left of the TWW!!!!!!!

There will def be some leakage but you you are still absorbing a good amount. Just make sure you stay rested for 15-20 mins after inserting, or right before you are going to lay down for bed.

Re: Progesterone question...

yes the leakage is totally normal. next cycle (which hopefully there wont be one) if your insurance covers it - i would recommend getting crinone gel instead of the suppositories. the supps are terrible. the crinone is SOOO much more tolerable - its a gel that comes with an applicator. it doesnt really drip out either. the only weird thing about it is that after several days of using it, white chunky stuff starts coming out.. its annoying but not nearly as bad as the supps (in my opinion anyway)!

Re: Progesterone question...

What are some of the side effects that everyone has had? Right now I am a bit b!tchy and bloated...and yesterday was day one! Could it also be because I am no longer taking the FSH? Grrr...shouldn't this be so much easier? Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
And another question...is 10 days the average for the ovidrel to be out of my system?

Re: Progesterone question...

I just used it for the first time after all this time doing treatments. I actually liked it better than PIO. But, I was told to (TMI) push it up as far as you can. I had a little leakage but not too bad. I think they are made with cocoa butter, and that is most likely what is leaking out. Also, its warm now, I'd put them in fridge to store and take out a little early so its not cold when you insert. They also say try not to go to the bathroom for 1 1/2 hours after. I used a panty liner. But, I had to take them 2x a day. At least at night you are laying down for the night. Good luck!
