Progesterone Question

Hi ladies.. I'm usually on TTC but I thought I would also post this question here...Has anyone had to take the progesterone inserts(Endometrin) did you have any side effects?? Also I just read about birth defects on the info sheet.. What did you think about that?? I have to start taking it in the morning and I think I just scared myself 1/2 to death by reading the clinical study for pregnancy.. Any input would be greatly appreciated TIA!!

Progesterone is one of those things where the potential benefit outweighs any risk (IMO). Look at it this way: your body is supposed to naturally make a certain level when pg, if it doesn't, this is just a supplement!

I was prescribed progesterone suppositories after my IUI. I did not have any side affects. I inserted it before bed, so i had VERY little leakage sorry if thats TMI. I would suggest a panty liner, but you will be fine.

I was on them after IVF and am still on them at 9.5 weeks pregnant. It is something your body needs to sustain a pregnancy and if your bodys natural amounts are too low you can miscarry...thats why some Dr.'s will put people on it.

As far as side effects...I didnt have any. Make sure you wear a pantyliner because it will leak out throughout the day (sorry gross I know). Some woman can stain a little from it but nothing to worry about.
