Prof Photo Question

We're having DS's 1 yr photo shoot and doing family pics as well.

What did you dress your DS in for pics?
I want to somewhat coordinate outfits without overdoing it.

What did your family wear?

How many outfits did you bring?

We plan on being on location at a Pier so I don't want to overdo it.

Was thinking balloons and a cake. AL mat or sheet for the cake smash
Also, a 1 yr onsie and bib.

Any other ideas without having to bring luggage?
How did you keep your LO happy?
thanks

Re: Prof Photo Question

I am having the same dilemma also. I am not sure what to dress DS in for the more formal pictures, but for the cake smash I am going to just put him in this denim diaper cover.

I also am going to put him in jeans and no shirt with suspenders for a few pics and then a yankees jersey for some others. His birthday party is going to be yankees themed. (My photog allows unlimited clothing changes).

I would love to hear others suggestions for everything else!

That's cute
I can do unlimited clothes, but I don't want to do too much or DS will get in a mood. LOL

Re: Prof Photo Question

We did a 1 year photo shoot with family shots in March. Here's a link if you want to check them out. They are posted in reverse order of the shoot:

Kodak Gallery

I tried not to get too matchy matchy with the outfits so we went for soft colors. I didn't realize we would have a beige background and it did get a little too beigey in my opinion. But I couldn't tell until after I got the pictures back.

I was asked to keep the outfits to a minimum so we figured we'd do some of my son without his jacket, but his shirt kept coming untucked and it looks sloppy. Oh well.

The cake smash we did in a swim suit. I didn't want the look of the cartoon characters on the diaper. This was a good choice if you ask me. No distractions from the cake. I bought a small (6"?) cake from King Kullen the day before. I went to Dortoni because I in mind that I wanted an oversized cupcake but they were too pink and glittery for my little guy. Chat Icon

Have fun with your pictures!

Re: Prof Photo Question

My advice is to keep it simple. 1 or 2 outfits and you would be fine. Save the 1 yr onesie for the cakesmash. Also, if at all possible, can you plan the shoot around his nap? I always do pics in the morning so that everyone is happy - for the most part, of course!
