Princess tea party

Has anyone ever had a princess tea party for a birthday?
DD is turning 5 and still loves princess (though she's growing up).
She only has a handful of kid friends (will be mostly family) so I'm thinking of saving some $ and doing a tea party at home and finding a high school girl to play princess for an hour and maybe paint faces. Her birthday is next month.
Anyone do anything like that for ideas?

Princess tea party

We just sent to a home party with a fancy tea theme. My girls were thrilled. I let them wear old, fancy dresses. The party was lots of adults and a smallish group of kids but they put out baskets of boas, scarves, hats, and wings and the adults had fun with that too. They had a cute craft table where the kids could decorate wooden wands with markers, stock on jewels, and really cute patterned tape. I think there were also foam tiaras to decorate. My kids had a blast.

Thanks! I'm terrible at these things... but it seems to be what she wants. Decorating tiaras and wands sounds very fun and easy!!! I will definitely have boys (at least 3). Did she have any? How did they handle it?

I haven't had one, but I think it's such an adorable idea! I'm sure there's lots of ideas on Pinterest. You can probably even do a decorate-your-own-cookie activity and then they can eat it with the "tea"!

There was a boy or two but I don't remember seeing anything at the craft table for them. It was not a structured party so it wasn't like they were left out of a certain time but I'm sure you could find something at AC-moore or Michael's that the boys could make.
